01Ribbonwise and these terms
These Terms govern your use of Ribbonwise at ribbonwise.app. Ribbonwise is operated by Patrick Godfrey. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the service’s operator; “you” means the person using it. Questions can be sent to patrickgodfrey@godfreyenterprise.com.
Ribbonwise helps you create gift lists, answer or send gift-preference interviews, and discover products. By creating an account or choosing to start an interview after being shown these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or submit an interview. Our Privacy policy explains information handling; it is not a waiver of your privacy rights.
The main site is free to use. Ribbonwise does not currently charge consumers a subscription or collect payment-card details for its core gift-planning features. Any future optional paid service would need separate clear pricing and your agreement before charging you. Brand sponsorship arrangements require separate agreements and are not created by these Terms.
02Age and account responsibilities
The initial service is for adults aged 18 or older who can enter into a binding agreement. Do not use it for accounts or interviews involving children’s personal information. Provide accurate account information and use only an account you are authorized to access.
Google authenticates you through Supabase; Ribbonwise does not ask for your Google password. Protect your sign-in account, devices, and verification codes. Do not share codes, impersonate another person, or let others use your account without authorization. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
You are responsible for your own actions and for use you authorize. These Terms do not make you responsible for losses caused by our conduct where applicable law says otherwise.
03Gift lists and invitation links
Only provide information about another person when you have a legitimate reason and any permission required by law. Invite people you know who would reasonably expect the message; do not use Ribbonwise for spam, harassment, or unsolicited bulk outreach. Review invitation messages before sending them from your device.
Invitation links function as access keys: anyone with the link can reopen saved interview answers and submit or change answers without a separate login. Keep links private and do not post them publicly. The recipient page does not display the organizer’s budget or shortlist, but saved answers are available to the organizer and the AI service as described in the Privacy policy.
Do not submit passwords, financial credentials, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information. Give only the practical preferences necessary for gift selection. Labels such as “private” describe intended access and presentation, not an absolute confidentiality guarantee.
Deleting a list removes its active list and answer records, not every copy held by providers or other people. Contact us for account deletion or other privacy requests.
04AI suggestions and product accuracy
Interview feedback, questions, summaries, and recommendations may be generated by AI using the details you provide. AI can make mistakes, misunderstand a preference, or produce unsuitable suggestions. Search-backed results and displayed prices are still not a guarantee of accuracy or availability.
Before buying, check the retailer’s current price, stock, shipping, returns, product specifications, safety warnings, sizing, device compatibility, and any dietary or other suitability requirements. Ribbonwise is not professional medical, financial, or legal advice, and is not a substitute for checking product safety.
We do not promise a particular gift outcome, retailer offer, product quality, uninterrupted AI availability, or that an item remains available. If AI services are unavailable, some features may use a simpler fallback or be temporarily unavailable.
05Retailers, affiliates, and sponsorships
Purchases occur on independent retailers’ websites. The retailer—not Ribbonwise—is responsible for selling and fulfilling the product, payments, shipping, warranties, returns, and customer service. Your purchase is governed by that retailer’s terms and privacy practices. Contact the retailer about order problems.
Where an affiliate relationship is marked, Ribbonwise may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Where a brand pays for a placement, we identify the placement as sponsored and identify the sponsor. Paid placements may affect where a product appears; payment is not a guarantee that a product is right for you. Disclosures belong near the relevant product or link, not only on this page.
External links and product images are not a guarantee or endorsement of an external website’s security or practices. Evaluate third-party terms before using those services.
06Acceptable use
Use Ribbonwise lawfully and respectfully. Do not:
- Access someone else’s account or gift list without permission, guess invitation links, bypass access controls, or expose private information.
- Submit unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, fraudulent, or rights-infringing content.
- Send spam, impersonate a person or brand, or mislead recipients about who invited them.
- Introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, overwhelm the service, or run automated activity that interferes with it or creates unreasonable costs.
- Copy or reuse third-party product images or content in a way that violates the owner’s rights.
Report a suspected security issue privately to our contact email instead of accessing or exposing other users’ data.
07Your content and our service
You retain any rights you have in the information you submit. You give Ribbonwise permission to host, process, and display that information as necessary to provide the features you request, including processing it through our service providers and showing the relevant gift brief to the organizer. This permission does not give us ownership of your personal information or permission to sell it.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content. AI-generated material may not be unique and may contain third-party material; these Terms do not promise exclusive ownership or freedom from third-party rights.
Ribbonwise’s branding, interface, and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use the service for its intended purposes, but not imply an affiliation, resell access, or reproduce protected materials without permission. Third-party brands and product content belong to their respective owners.
08Availability and ending access
We may update, limit, or discontinue features and may restrict access when reasonably needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or violations of these Terms. We will give notice of material service changes where practicable, except where urgent action is necessary or notice is legally restricted.
You can stop using Ribbonwise at any time, delete individual lists you own, and contact us to request account deletion. Suspension or account deletion does not create a promise to erase every provider backup immediately; the Privacy policy explains retention. Keep your own copy of important information rather than treating Ribbonwise as your only archive.
09Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional promises of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free recommendations.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, such as lost opportunities or losses resulting from reliance on an inaccurate gift recommendation. This does not remove responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights or responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where protected by law.
These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, or a blanket obligation for consumers to cover all of our legal costs. Any dispute remains subject to applicable law and the courts with lawful jurisdiction.
10Changes, disputes, and contact
If a problem arises, please contact patrickgodfrey@godfreyenterprise.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a waiver of your rights or a requirement to miss a legal deadline. Your mandatory local consumer protections remain available.
We may revise these Terms and update the date at the top. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and request renewed agreement where required. Changes will not retroactively remove existing legal rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent the law permits.
